Steve O’Connell presses Mayor on Tram extensions to Sutton & Crystal Palace

Steve O’Connell, London Assembly Member for Croydon and Sutton, will today press the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to formally adopt extensions of the tram to Sutton and Crystal Palace as part of his transport plan for London.  Steve has campaigned extensively for the upgrade and the expansion of the tram for constituents.

Speaking before the first Mayor’s Question Time since the May London elections, Steve said:

“I will be using my question to the Mayor to push Boris to formally adopt the extension of the tram to Sutton and Crystal Palace.  It is great that the Mayor is in favour of the proposal, but until it is included in the work programme of Transport for London, there is no firm confirmation that this will go ahead. I will continue to use my position to advocate the delivery of this project, as it will benefit the residents of the two boroughs I represent”.
